Campaign Pre-Launch Testing: Best Practices for Testing Your Campaign Before Go-Live
Before You Start Testing
Make sure the following are in place:
- Make sure your campaign is turned on. If it is not turned on yet, you can switch it on just for testing and turn it off again when you are done.
Refer to the Manage Your Campaign Status: Activate or Pause article for steps. - You are testing within your campaign business hours, as messages will not go out outside of these hours. Refer to the Updating Your Campaign Business Hours article for steps
Step 1: Quick Test Within the Campaign (No Lead Upload Required)
Before sending a test lead, you can do a quick test directly within the campaign to verify that Meera is responding as expected.
This is a good first check to confirm your scripts, objection handling, and FAQs are set up correctly before testing the full end-to-end flow.

Step 2: Send a Test Lead
Once you are happy with the initial test, send a test lead into your campaign using the same method you plan to use for your live leads. This ensures you are testing the full flow end to end.
You can send a test lead via:
- Zapier integration
- API
- CSV file upload
- Refer to the Uploading Leads via CSV File article for steps
- Refer to the Uploading Leads via CSV File article for steps
Pro Tip: Use a phone number you have access to so you can receive and respond to messages directly during testing.
Step 3: Confirm Meera Has Received the Lead
Once the lead has been submitted, verify that Meera has received it and that it has landed in the correct campaign. If you are sending leads to multiple campaigns, this step will also help you confirm the lead was routed to the right one.
For instructions on how to find your lead and check their status, refer to the Finding a Lead in Meera and Checking Their Communication Status article.
Step 4: Go Through the Campaign Flow
Once you have confirmed the lead is in the system, go through the campaign flow from the test lead's phone.
Check the following:
- The initial message is received and the content is correct
- Responses trigger the expected answers in line with your FAQs and brand tone of voice
- Any transfers, scheduling, or call flows are working as expected
- Shortcodes are populating correctly and not showing as blank
Step 4: Make Updates and Retest if Needed
If you notice anything that needs to be adjusted, make your changes in the campaign and retest the lead to run them through the flow again from the beginning.
For instructions on how to update, re-upload, or delete your test lead, refer to the Campaign Pre-Launch Testing article.
