3. How link shortening works
- You give us a URL to add to your Meera script.
- Whenever the link is sent, our messaging system (powered by Twilio) automatically converts the link to a unique URL on your branded domain.
- Your lead clicks the short link.
- They are instantly redirected to the original URL.
4. Setup requirements and overall process
Step 1: Choose a Subdomain and let us know
ℹ️ What is a subdomain?
A subdomain is a bit of text added in front of your website address.
Example:
yourcompany.com (main website)
links.yourcompany.com (subdomain)
Step 2: Update your domain's DNS Settings
ℹ️ What is DNS?
DNS is the system that tells the internet where your website is hosted. It’s usually managed by:
-
Your website host
-
Your domain provider (GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.)
-
Your IT/web company
We will simply give you a few lines to copy and paste called CNAME records.
You do not need to understand how they work — just where to paste in the text record. If you don't know how to update your DNS, we're happy to help via screen share!
Step 3: We activate your custom short URL! 👍
