How Throttling Works and How to Configure Your Settings
What Is Throttling?
Throttling controls how many leads and messages Meera sends within a set period of time. Instead of sending everything at once, throttling creates a steady, controlled flow. This protects the system from being overwhelmed and allows performance to be monitored and adjusted as needed.
How Meera Processes Leads
Meera processes leads in first in, first out order meaning leads that were submitted earlier are always processed before newer ones. The throttle value determines how many leads can be processed within a given timeframe.
If more leads come in than the throttle limit allows, the remaining leads carry over and are processed in the next available window.
Example: Throttle Limit Set to 50 Leads Per Day
Think of it as a queue. Leads line up in the order they were received and Meera works through 50 per day, no matter how many are waiting.
| Day | New Leads Uploaded | Queue at Start of Day | Processed | Left in Queue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | 80 | 80 | 50 | 30 |
| Day 2 | 40 | 70 | 50 | 20 |
| Day 3 | 60 | 80 | 50 | 30 |
| Day 4 | 30 | 60 | 50 | 10 |
| Day 5 | 20 | 30 | 30 | 0 |
By Day 5, the queue is finally clear because the total new leads uploaded that day were low enough to let Meera catch up.
What This Means for You
- Leads from earlier days are always completed first before newer leads are touched.
- The higher the throttle value, the faster leads are processed.
- If you consistently upload more leads than your throttle limit allows, it may take several days to work through the backlog.
Please note that you can always adjust your throttle limit or the frequency at which leads are processed. See the steps below to make changes to your settings.
