Managing Marketing Communication Restrictions: A Quick Setup Guide
This article will help you guide step by step on how you can configure your Marketing Communication Restrictions
Marketing Communication Restrictions let you configure when Meera-initiated communications are allowed based on U.S. state and federal marketing laws (like TCPA).
You can define quiet hours by state and day of week — and instantly pause outreach to a state in the event of an emergency. These settings are part of the Compliance Control Center in your Meera dashboard.
⚠️ Important: Meera provides smart defaults, but you are responsible for reviewing and customizing these settings to ensure legal compliance with all applicable laws.

Key Rules to Remember
✅ Meera-initiated messages are only sent during your configured time windows
✅ User-initiated replies are still allowed outside those windows
✅ Messaging to non-configured U.S. states is blocked
✅ International messaging follows your campaign's business hours
Important Compliance Notes
- You must assign the correct state to each lead phone number for restrictions to apply properly
- Default settings may not reflect the latest legal updates — review with your legal team
- Meera enforces restrictions at the scheduling level; actual delivery time may vary due to carrier delays
- For states with multiple time zones, Meera defaults to the most populous region or the strictest rule
