What Are Marketing Communication Restrictions?

Marketing Communication Restrictions let you configure when Meera-initiated communications are allowed, based on U.S. state and federal marketing laws including TCPA.

You can define quiet hours by state and day of week and instantly pause outreach to a state in the event of an emergency. These settings are part of the Compliance Control Center in your Meera dashboard.

Important: Meera provides smart defaults, but you are responsible for reviewing and customizing these settings to ensure legal compliance with all applicable laws.

 

What This Feature Does

  • Quiet Hour Restrictions — Set message send windows by U.S. state to align with quiet hour laws
  • Emergency Pause — Manually suspend all Meera-initiated messaging for a specific state during emergencies
  • User-Initiated Replies — Meera continues to respond 24/7 to inbound messages unless otherwise configured
  • Bulk Management — Upload multiple restrictions at once using a standardized Excel file
  • Audit Logs — Track all changes for compliance oversight

What Happens When Emergency Pause is Activated?

  • All outbound messages to that state are immediately stopped
  • Leads with calls scheduled for that day will be notified
  • Inbound messages from leads will still receive responses
  • To restore messaging, toggle the Emergency switch OFF

 

Note: Emergency activation is logged and triggers email alerts to your admins

Key Rules to Remember

  1. Meera-initiated messages are only sent during your configured time windows
  2. User-initiated replies are still allowed outside those windows
  3. Messaging to non-configured U.S. states is blocked
  4. International messaging follows your campaign's business hours

Important Compliance Note

  1. You must assign the correct state to each lead phone number for restrictions to apply properly

  2. Default settings may not reflect the latest legal updates — review with your legal team

  3. Meera enforces restrictions at the scheduling level; actual delivery time may vary due to carrier delays

  4. For states with multiple time zones, Meera defaults to the most populous region or the strictest rule
